Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Wood, Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight, and Joey McIntyre of New Kids on the Block poses at a signing for their new single "Summertime" in New York City. Watch their today's performance HERE ... it's OK to dance ;-)
Last month, the New Kids on the Block caused fan mayhem when they resurfaced on the Today show on a windy and rainy New York morning, and similarly dreary conditions awaited the estimated 4,000 who crowded into the show’s plaza early today for the five singers’ first performance together in 15 years. Surrounded by a hysterical throng of fans toting mementos of their adolescent obsession (old tour jackets, photographs, umbrellas and caps), the group played a short medley of their hits from the late Eighties and early Nineties — “Step by Step,” “Hangin’ Tough,” “Please Don’t Go Girl” and “You’ve Got It (The Right Stuff)” — their new single “Summertime” and a song recalling the good old days, “Tonight.” Rolling Stone

Yes it's that time of the year again! Time goes by so quickly, It feels like it was yesterday when we had the "Eurovision Martini Party" at our place in Paris, celebrating Alek's country winning the 2007 contest.

At that time even said that we would go to Belgrade to see the show ... "unfortunately" we are now on the other side of the planet in Los Angeles and won't be able to go there or even watch the show live, I think we'll survive ;-)

On the first photo, the Bulgarian duo, then the Finnish band the very cute Stefan Filipovic of Montenegro and below the Israeli trio. More photos of this year's contestants HERE

A volleyball player from Pennsylvania (picture above) had the honor this morning of scaling the Herndon Monument, signaling the end of the freshman or "plebe" year for the Naval Academy Class of 2011.
"I had the easy job," said Midshipman Reichel, who is 6-feet 6-inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. "My classmates were the ones who held me up. It was great to get it done."

The plebes scaled the monument in 2 hours, 35 minutes and 59 seconds, about twice as long as the better times in recent years. Despite numerous spills, cuts and bruises there were no major injuries to report today at the annual ritual that marks the end of the grueling plebe year. And that came as sweet relief to fans after the academy's leadership announced this year that it was considering an overhaul of the climb for the sake of safety and professionalism.
We have a short video of this year's Herndon climbing HERE
