NICK BEYELER // OHLALA CONFESSIONS
Nick Beyeler can count on being a world gymnastic aerobics champion as just one of his main assets. What he can do with his bendy body leave you open-mouth-drooling-spech-less ;-) Perfect body, killer smile, talent, charisma, he has it all ...
What is your secret to having such an amazing body?
Thank you! I'm aware that I'm quite blessed with a fully functioning and healthy body, it allows me to do cool tricks with it. Being able to move is a gift that we should not take for granted. It's the moment during a performance that I feel the most alive. I'm a constant mover, so I guess I do burn quite a few calories per hour. However, in my opinion my body is far from perfect, but let's strive for excellence, not perfection.
You did a few fashion shoots lately. How do you compare that to aerobic as a job?
Those two Worlds always coexisted in my life - with one area of work complementing the other. I'm conscious of the whole irony of things in both the modeling and the fitness scene, but over the years learned to live with it. There's a lot of incredibly boring sitting around waiting involved in fashion shoots, so I always got my books to read along with me. Can't wait for the new Harry Potter Book to come out this summer!
Tell us more about your projects, and news...
The past year has been filled with fantastic projects I'm incredibly thankful for. Currently, I'm up to my neck in a wonderfully creative project with American theatre director Stafford Arima. I've never been that excited about a future mission in my whole life! I'm gonna tell you about it when the time is right.
On which side of the bed you sleep?
On the upper side.
What do you wear while sleeping ?
I'm sleeping in boxers or butt naked on a japanese futon.
The confessions continues in the second part of the post with more photos of Nick Beyeler and a couple of videos ! Nick Beyeler in DNA // Nick Beyeler Official Site // Photos courtesy of Nick Beyeler and photographer Hans Hadorn.
Obsession
I can get quite obsessed with training related things. If I can't get a move right, it will bug me endlessly until I'm actually able to do it. Interestingly, most of the time I know somewhere inside when the time is ready to do a certain move. So much happens in the brain it can drive you crazy.
Honesty
A beautiful word. Trying hard to stay completely honest to myself. Honest in what I want, how I want to live my life and what is important to me. Not always easy as all too sudden we can become part of the plan of others.
Perseverance
In combination with Ambition, there's not much one can not achieve. Now we only need to be very specific about what we want in our life. I often wonder what I would do if I would be really, really filthy rich. Or if I were to find Aladin's little lamp today? What would I wish for? A very simple question but extremely important and sometimes I truly struggle with getting my wishlist right.
Respect
Funny enough, I believe firmly in that it was only when I learned to respect my fellow competitors at competitions I was ready to win. The years before, I was always being jealous about the success of others, cursing their performance. Only as I suddenly realized that we're all in the same boat, I started to cheer for my competitors. I was actually having fun for them, feeling proud for their performance. I walked on stage knowing that I will do my best and that I gave my best for the others to do so also. To win like this is somewhat so much more sweeter.
Sex
Finally - here's a good word. I find travelling sexy. I don't know what it is exactly, but there is always something erotic about travelling. Maybe the high altitude in airplanes, the casual hope for an unexpected sexual encounter with the professional staff of airline companies. Or simply that we take each day as they come.
