OHLALA STOP LOSS PREMIERE IN HOLLYWOOD

Okay, I am not sure where should I start. Let's talk about the movie first, because that is what we came for (besides meeting Ryan Phillippe and Channing Tatum ;-) Stop Loss is a fantastic movie, co written and directed by Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don't Cry) the story of Brandon King (Ryan Phillippe) who makes a celebrated return to his small Texas hometown following his tour of duty ... and then the Army orders him back to duty in Iraq.

One thing is sure, you won't leave the theater without thinking "what would have I done ?" No matter what side you are on, it is a journey that you won't come back safe. You can bring your body back home from war in one piece but your soul is wounded for ever.

This is probably more than just a movie for all the people involved; it is a statement about what can be defined as "collateral damages". Wether we go to war for the right or wrong reasons, this is a decision that will affect, strangers, friends, loved ones for the rest of their lives and those psychologic scars that will go on and on for generations.

So let's get to the hotness now. I won't spoil the movie if I tell you that there is a scene where Channing Tatum is in his underwear with leather boots digging a hole cover with sweat and dirt all over his body!!!!! OMG! As soon as the movie goes on DVD this scene is going to be a HIT on youtube my friends ....

The best part of the after party !!!!!!! Meeting Ryan Phillippe and Channing Tatum; they were really nice to us. We took a couple of pictures on the red carpet but after the movie we got to hang out with them, thanx to their super cool publicists and to Charlie. Ryan was so sweet and well, so sexy ... just as I would expect him to be :-) Channing Tatum, totally cool. He took our camera to snap a picture of Trent and I ... no way we could refuse that ! ;-)

It was a great night and a great movie with a great friend, Trent Pink Is The New Blog, who is totally an US version of me !!!! I love him :-)

i just wanted to say i am super jealous!!!!! lol btw great post ;)
luv Channing Tatum*

Its pretty pathetic how all the movies about the current "war" focus exclusively and seld-absorbedly on how it affects americans. God forbid that we should comprehend any political event as having global or even local (i.e. where its taking place) consequences.

then this is why you should go and see this movie, it is about people involved in war, soldiers and civilians (in America and Iraq). It is a perspective and you can't judge that ... but what you can do, is a movie that will speak out for you and your point of view ! This is exactly what the producer wanted, getting people involved in conversations. So I guess u got it right but see the movie first.

Ryan AND Channing ... OMG I would pay for that!!! but I guess I'll pay "just" to see the movie.

Sorry Steph--just saw the trailer and it shows nothing about my perspective--just a bunch of shirtless hicks in pick-up trucks hugging their girlfriends. Amazing how hollywood and corporate media continally aestheticize the war--we never see bodies or blood and guts on the news. Atleast they reveal that in French media to a limited extent...

May I simply ask why you even give Trent and his blog the time of day? You can do so much better in your choice of friends than this vapid and self-referential little twit.

I'll agree with "Huh". A movie with Channing Tatum is sooooo not likely to convey the experience of the Iraqi point-of-view. Wasn't his last movie "She's All That"?
Anyways, the movie will be a flop everywhere but the south; they love these kind of war-related stories. Again, that's why Channing is the 'country hick' solider and not some smarter character.
