FROM THE MARGINS TO THE MAINSTREAM: LGBT CHARACTERS THEN AND NOW

On wednesday night we've attended a discussion board at the WGAW (Writers Guild of America West) thanx to our friend Donald Martin :-) The topic "From the Margins to the Mainstream: LGBT Characters Then and Now" Moderated by Oscar and Emmy winning filmakers Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman.

Among the panelists: The super sexy, Josh Barry, executive at ABC. He helped to launch series such as, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Lost, Ugly Betty, Brothers and Sisters, Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money ... In 2004 he was named one of The Hollywood Reporter's "Next generation of Entertainment Industry Executives Under 35." He currently resides in Los Angeles with his partner of 10 years.
Candis Cayne, from Dirty Sexy Money, where she plays Billy Baldwin's transgender lover. This is the first time in television history a recurring transgender role is being played by a transgender actress. She lives in LA with her fiancé DJ Marco and their six year old daughter.

But also Ron Bass (Rain Man), Sherri Cooper (Brothers and Sisters), Tom Lynch, Aline Brosh McKenna (Three to tango, The Devils Wear Prada) Damon Romine (GLAAD), Don Roos (The opposite of sex, Boys on the Side), and Dan Sterling.
