COMMITMENT CEREMONY AT THE ABBEY IN WEST HOLLYWOOD A "VOW TO VOTE NO"

Tonight we went to The Abbey in West Hollywood for a symbolic commitment ceremony hosted by TR Knight and witnessed by Judy Shepard (below). California is set for its biggest political battle in years after it was announced the November ballot would include a constitutional amendment limiting marriage to unions between men and women.

At 8 pm couples from around the nation "tied the knot" all wearing the Matthew Shepard Erase Hate pendant courtesy of Love and Pride jewelry designer, Udi Behr. 100% of the net proceeds go to the Matthew Shepard Foundation to support diversity programs in education and to help youth organizations establish environments where young people can feel safe and be themselves. Among the 30 couple above, John M. and Jordan B. celebrating 3 years together this week and Michael F. and Gregg B. together for 16 years. Below Robin Tyler and Diane Olson the original plaintiffs in the case that originated the supreme court decision, could not miss this great opportunity to reaffirm their engagement to the cause.

The ceremony was officiated by the handsome Mayor of West Hollywood Jeffrey Prang (below).
