CARNET DE VOYAGE: NOTRE DAME DE PARIS
Now that we are about to leave Paris for good, I mean as residents, we are doing things we haven't done for the past 10 years! I am not sure if it was the one hour waiting line or the 400 narrow steps that kept us from going inside the most famous Dame of Paris. To be honest I always liked it from the ground, but I knew the view was a must ... so let's see!
Yes the view is great and very dramatic, it has something to do with the chimeras and gargoyles.
Not as hot as the gargoyles Alek and I blocking the view from the South Tower ;-) I am glad we have done it because something is for sure, we won't go there twice. The "in cage" feeling once on top kind of kills the moment.
The picture above is my favorite, just because it features the Eiffel Tower which is my favorite monument of all!
Above the line to enter the Cathedral (not the same than the one to go up the tower) I always found interesting how we humans can look insignificant from up above!
Just like in every city around the world the must is to have a rooftop garden!
So bye bye the Notre Dame view, above the Pantheon that we have visited yesterday, and hello the 400 steps down ... as you can see this visit is not recommended for claustrophobic people!
catch up on our 2008 travels here!
