Only 10 of the 10,500 athletes competing in the Beijing Olympics are openly gay, (Nine of the gay athletes are lesbians) according to a study by a gay website. Some gay athletes fear that coming out would bring disapproval from fans and team mates, others worry about the damage to endorsements. source

Just so proud when watching him last night, came back from the 9th place! The boy knew how to put on a show. And the perfect 10's!! The Chinese were stopped from a clean sweep! Also a revenge that he did badly in the 3m dive.
He's gonna be a hero to Australia, and its gay men! We love you Matthew!

although i am chinese, i secretly rooted for him. he is a very sexy guy i think, and a gold medal makes him even sexier!
