As we have mentioned a couple of days ago, Daniel Craig will portray Hadrian, who had an affair while married with a teenage Bithynian boy named Antinous. The Antonio Banderas rumor is now officially squelched. And Queer as Folk UK Charlie Hunnam will play the young lover. Source

What? I think Hunnam is utterly hot and all that, but I was thinking they were going to look for some fresh-er meat. Antinous after all, died with 19 or 20 years old.

Damn it, why can't they give Jamie Bell some love? He's an amazing actor. You should watch and see how Jamie bell completely steals the thunder from Charlie Hunnam in Nicholas Nickleby.
Sure, he's not drop dead gorgeous, but who said the character had to be?

umm... @rusty professor: surely you've at least heard of the story of hadrian and antinous???
antinous was supposed to be this gorgeous young guy that hadrian fell in love with the moment he saw him. and when he died young, hadrian was so distraught he had antinous declared a god and had temples and statues made of him everywhere in the empire.
so yeah... antinous is supposed to be stunning! (enter alex pettyfer... cute as a button.. but can't act to save his life..)
kinda like the male Helen of Sparta if you will... whose beauty made men do crazy things
