OHLALA INSIDE THE WATER CUBE IN BEIJING
For obvious reasons, we will mainly focus our attention towards the Water Cube during those Olympics ;-)
As you may know already if you are familiar with our Sport category, I could look at Eamon Sullivan stretching and training all day...
Below the Frenchylicious Alain Bernard and on the right Hairylicious Helge Meeuw from Germany.
Hey guys, have you noticed how all the swimmers are not so much into shaving lately, LOVE it! don't you!?
The irresistible Brazilian Thiago Pereira and to finish Michael Phelps leaving "incognito" the Water Cube.

I too like the hairy swimmer look, but don't get too attached. I'm sure that they are going to shave all their hair off before the actual Olympic events. Well at least all the hair that their razor swimsuits don't cover.
I remember in high school, all the swimmers would have a "Shaving Party" the night before a big swim meet. It's supposed to help remove drag.

Illuman is probably correct. We used to do the same thing. The benefit is partially psycholgical, but it really does seem to work. The other reason could be that they are going to wear the new "skin" swim suits that cover their chest. If they were to do that, they wouldn't have to shave. My guess is that come event time all of the facial hair (at least) will be gone.

Please pay some attention to the Dutch swimmer Pieter van den Hoogenband. He's hot and he's at the Olympics to prolongue his title for the 3rd time!

I remember reading that some Triathlon cpmpetitors (shaving is as much for cycling as swimming) do an almost ritualized total body shave, so total that they even shave the palms of their hands. It's partly about the skin sensation and the sense of total sacrifice (kinda sounds like BDSM). Why are we so obsessed with this?
