POSEIDON MICHAEL PHELPS WINS 2 MORE! NOW AT 5

The historic day started with a bit of humor from a high school buddy back in Baltimore. Michael Phelps received a text message, "Dude, it's ridiculous how many times I have to see your ugly face"... followed by "It's time to be the best ever.''



This is Michael Phelps 11th Olympic Gold medal, beating former Stanford swimmer Jenny Thompson for the most for a U.S. athlete. Now comes the next challenge: breaking Spitz's record of seven goal medals won in Munich in 1972. Phelps has the 800 medley relay, the 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley left in his busy week in Beijing.





"Four years ago, I just wanted to race," Phelps said. "I hate to lose. Getting third in the 200 four years ago, when I lose in circumstances like that, it motivates me even more. In the past four years, I've been able to make some pretty significant drops in the 200, especially underwater." Besides eating a lot of pasta and pizza as we have mentioned yesterday, Michael is also getting two massages a day, and nice ice baths.
