LOS ANGELES : PROPOSITION 8 PROTEST RALLY
The Fight Is Not Over Yet
Proposition 8 Protest Rally & Street Closures - Wednesday, November 5th
As deeply disappointed as we all are that California voters passed Proposition 8, we must not allow that disappointment to linger. This vote is a temporary defeat in the long march toward equal rights for all citizens in America.
Please join us for a protest rally tonight at 7 pm on San Vicente Blvd between West Hollywood Park and the Pacific Design Center (647 N. San Vicente Blvd. West Hollywood CA 90069) as we move forward towards restoring equality for all in California.
San Vicente Blvd, between Santa Monica Blvd and Melrose Avenue will be closed tonight starting at 6 pm. San Vicente south-bound traffic will be directed to make left or right at Santa Monica Blvd. Signs have already been posted to help divert traffic. THE FIGHT FOR EQUALITY IS NOT OVER + Gay-rights advocates to challenge Proposition
Statement by No on Prop 8 Campaign on Election Status
Roughly 400,000 votes separate yes from no on Prop 8 – out of 10 million votes tallied. Based on turnout estimates reported yesterday, we expect that there are more than 3 million and possibly as many as 4 million absentee and provisional ballots yet to be counted.
Given that fundamental rights are at stake, we must wait to hear from the Secretary of State tomorrow how many votes are yet to be counted as well as where they are from. It is clearly a very close election and we monitored the results all evening and this morning.
As of this point, the election is too close to call.

Such an amazing demonstration. We must wait until everything is counted. This is too important to call early or wrong. Thank you for helping us fight back!

Does anyone remember what happen in Los angeles, san francisco, san diego, ect .. when pete wilson vetoed "AB 101"??
well, we marched and closed down MAJOR streets, LAX, almost got jerry farewell at the roosevelt hotel- he was hiding in the kitchen.. scared to death of all the Queer Nationals outside the kitchen door ready to pounce on that bigot like a bulldog with red lipstick..(wick,wick).
what i'm getting at is "We did this for over TWO WEEKS on a DAILY basis and at that time, we Dominated the air waves on all news channels, radio talk shows,t.v. talk shows.... WE MUST DO THIS AGAIN, LET'S DEMONSTRATE TO ALL IN AMERICA, ALSO: ACROSS THE GLOBE...
" WE THE PEOPLE OF 'EQUALITY FOR ALL', MAINLY US LGQBT AND OUR STRAIGHT ALLIES-"WE WILL NOT REST, WE WILL FIGHT BACK AT HATE HERE IN CALIFORNIA, ARIZONA, AND FLORIDA!!!
WE MUST TAKE OVER THE STREETS IN ALL STATES FOR AT LEAST TWO WEEKS TO GET THE MESSAGE OUT, THAT WE THE LGQBT COMMUNITIES "REFUSE" TO BE SECOND CLASS CITIZENS AND DEMAND THAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TAX THE CHURCHES WHO PARTICIPATE IN POLITICS, WHILE TELLING THEIR PARISHIONER'S "HOW TO VOTE & HOW MUCH MONEY TO GIVE THE YES ON 8 BIGOTS CAMPAIGN (UTAH TOLD THEIR FREAKS TO GIVE $10,000 EACH TO THE Y8), TO TAKE RIGHTS AWAY FROM OTHER AMERICANS" . THIS HAS BEEN VERY UGLY IN LOS ANGELES AND LAST NIGHT'S PROTEST MARCH COULD HAD USED A LITTLE MORE MILITANT QUEERS WHO " WON'T TAKE ANYONES BULLSHIT. WE HAVE STARTED COVERT GROUPS, TO EMPHASIZE THE HATE OF THE ANTI-FAMILY 'BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN' TERRORIST GROUP:
"FOCUS ON THE FAMILY" WHO HAS RECEIVED MONEY FROM NOT ONLY THE MORONS, BUT ALSO FRON THE FUCKING VATICAN!
DEMAND YOUR SENATOR'S HERE IN AMERICA FIND OUT IF IT WAS LEGAL FOR THE VATICAN TO GIVE THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THEY DID TO ANOTHER COUNTRY FOR POLITICS TO RUIN "OUR" COUNTRY'S LARGEST STATE CALIFORNIA" TO DESTROY OUR CONSTITUTION".
WILL YOU FIGHT BACK IN THE END DAYS OF BUSH'S"AMERIKKKA"?
TO BRING THE "CHANGE" WE NOW DEMAND FOR ALL AMERICANS!
F.Y.I.- OBAMA (YES I VOTED FOR HIM-LESSER OF TWO EVILS) HE IS "NOT" ON OUR SIDE, REMEMBER THAT. JUST LIKE CLINTON, HE WAS NO FRIEND EITHER BOTH ARE 'VOTE WHORES', OBAMA SAID;" I DON'T BELIEVE IN SAME-SEX MARRIAGE" EVEN THOUGH MOST OF US SUPPORTED THE NEW PREZ. WHAT WILL YOU DO TO MAKE 'CHANGE' FOR OUR COMMUNITIES? FROM THE BIGOTS OF FAITHS IN 'THEIR' HATEFUL AMERICA?? MAKE THEM PAY FOR THE HATEFUL PROPS IN CA,AZ,FL. AS A P.W.A. I WILL USE ANY N' ALL ENERGY TO FIGHT THE RIGHT AND TEACH THE CHILDREN/TEENS ON WHAT JUST HAPPEN HERE IN AMERICA, WE MUST TEACH,FIGHT BACK, AND IF WE MUST "BASH BACK AT THE HATE IN THIS STATE CALIFORNIA". I WILL FUCKING DO IT!!!!!!
SHAMEFUL, LYING, HATING GOP/Y8 HOMOPHOBIC BIGOTS THIS IS A WARNING FROM THE Q.A.L.F. WATCH YOUR BACKS.
*****PROMOTE HOMOSEXUALITY WHEN OUT IN PUBLIC***********

Lame. I really do not see how pissing off people who are trying to get home from work around the 405 is going to win them over. I WAS all for your cause and voted in your favor, but after having to sit in traffic for 3 hours, I am far from sympathetic now.
And yes, PLEASE share when the next "demonstration" will occur to save me a total 4 hour commute that day. I just won't go to work that day. Super. Thanks!

So apparently disturbing your convenience determines your position on civil rights? That's good to here.

Well, we're at it again, but this time we're more organized with more time and we'll be louder than before!
Friday night we plan to march down Broadway in the city of Long Beach in 3 stages. For those who cannot walk the entire route, we welcome your support on the sidelines.
FRIDAY NIGHT - 7pm Intersection of Broadway and Redondo (near the Library CoffeeHouse) in Belmont Heights. We need a large amount of people to completely blocks the intersection and start marching down Broadway to completely CLOSE DOWN the street. Contact your list, email, text, telephone, etc...let each other know WE WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS INJUSTICE! Find parking ahead of time either down the route, or in the neighborhoods that stage starts in. I recommend the Broadway bus Route 111/112 if you're starting with us, The little Red bus down Ocean and off at Redondo, then walk three blocks north.
FRIDAY NIGHT (Second Stage) - 7:30-7:45pm Intersection of Broadway and Junipero in Bluff Heights. Come join us and walk with us to the next rallying point. Show your peers that they need to join in on the struggle for EQUAL RIGHTS. We will continue to March down Broadway and pull people from the bars to march with us. We will encourage people shopping and dining to join us in our statement to the State of California that THIS IS WRONG! Again, parking will be tight, so arrive EARLY. The park is a great spot to ditch the car while you walk. The Ocean little red bus works too, as does the 4th Street bus.
FRIDAY NIGHT (Third and Final Stage) - 8:15 - 8:30pm Intersection of Broadway and Alamitos in Bluff Heights (near Hamburger Marys) We will start the last leg of our march to Pine Ave and down to Ocean Blvd. WE WILL BE HEARD TONIGHT. Bring signs, candles, comfortable shoes to march in. Encourage friends and family, gay and straight alike to join us. WE NEED TO MAKE A POWERFUL PRESENCE tomorrow night. All bus routes apply here. Parking IS a bear downtown, but we're on a mission....find a way!
The organizers of NO ON PROP 8 have been notified, and we need WAY MORE PEOPLE!! THANK YOU ALL for joining in our efforts to hear our loud voices heard. Please please please be peaceful. No altercations our vandalism during the march. We're marching through OUR main neighborhoods, we wish to make a positive statement, not an unruly one.
Copy and paste this to your friends, families, blog it, broadcast it, text it, email it, just get the word out.
Peace and....TOTAL EQUALITY FOR ALL PEOPLE!

I don't think most Hispanics will tolerate gay marriage. I live in Latin America and homophobia is strong here.
