Tonight in Dubai was the grand opening of The Palm Resort, the Palm Jumeirah and the over the top Atlantis resort located on the Palm Jumeirah island. The star of the night was Kylie Minogue who performed for the 2,000 guests at the $35m party.

I totally agree, Dubai is truly pathetic. Despite their tribal political system, socially backward people and human rights violations. They can try to build a wonderland in the desert, it would still suck to live in a place so disconnected from reality and real people. Not to mention that their summer is like 50 degrees

i live in dubai and its absolutely fabulous..I was born and raised on LA and dont think i ever want to go back. Compared to the rest of the Arab world, Dubai is the most progressive. Sure they are not up to par with the west but then again should they be?
PS i was at the opening of the Atlantis and it was absolutely stunning!
