THE GAY SCENE 4 - WGAW

Exactly a week ago we were invited to participate at the 4th event by WGAW Gay and Lesbian Writers Committee "The Gay Scene". It was great as they have got some of the most amazing TV actors read scenes from eleven television pilots, theatrical plays and feature scripts written by WGA members (and that feature Gay and Lesbian characters and stories).



Gary Goldstein together with the rest of the committee has selected 11 scripts from excellent hollywood script writers: "The Babe" by Donald Martin, "On the Low" by Luther M. Mace, "Blood or Marriage" by Jack Monaco, "Waiting For Yvette" by Deborah Pearl, "Four" by Jim Halterman, "Nick and Katherine" by Steve Ginsberg, "The Confession" by Jim Macak, "Life 101" by Dan Kael & Chris Freeman, "Trespass" by David A. Lee & Daniel Vaillancourt, "What Are Tuesdays Like?" by Victor Bumbalo, and "Curveball" by Gary Goldstein & Dan Clark.



We were stunned with the quality of each script and by the cast. Here is the list of those that have accepted the invitation to be a part and made this event so successfull (in order of appearance): Talia Shire, Blake Boyd, Kelly Hu, Bertrand Robertson Jr. , Theodore Perkins, Mirron Willis, Anthony Clark, Melvin Jackson Jr., Michael Medico, Alexandra Billings, Brett Chukerman, David Dean Bottrell, David Heymann, Peter Page, and Del Hunter-White.



The best thing about this event is becoming aware of how many great projects are out there just waiting for green light and we really hope they all get made. With MILK just hitting the big screens this week, we really hope that soon we will be seeing more of the real life gay stories in cinema, and this event gave us a hope with so many beautiful stories.
