OBSERVATION IS THE KEY TO OUR EVOLUTION
In a city where you get lifted and botoxed like you get a new haircut, it was just a question of time for the Griffith Observatory to get a new and refreshed face. Since its reopening a couple of years ago, Alek and I went there many times.
And in order to avoid the crowd we usually go on mondays when the Observatory itself is close to the public but the Griffith park remains open. You avoid people but then you have to deal with coyotes ...
But we always take amazing photos, you have to check out Take a Walk on The Wild Side - Alone in Los Angeles - OLLYWOO WTF!!!? and Griffith Observatory Los Angeles
This place was build for an observatory purpose and that's what we did, the sky, the view and the guys :-) I just love the 80's feeling of the man who was taking the picture above. Flashy fluorescent colors are back in fashion and we LOVE it!
The first thing we did when we arrived was to visit the Cafe :-) Like if the 3000 calories from last night were not enough to keep us going the entire week without any more food!
The Cafe has a stunning view on the Westside, from Los feliz to Santa Monica, and today was so clear that you could see all the way to Catalina Island.
One of the reason of our visit on a sunday was not to enjoy the 100's of people who had the same idea but to finally see the show at the Samuel Oschin Planetarium. It was amazing! Alek and I are totally fascinated about the universe and the presentation they do at the planetarium is a must see.
After a couple of hours up there, we drove to our little Hollywood hill for an ice cream and a drink by the pool.
As always the sunset was perfect, something caught fire and kind of ruined the moment (just kidding) we still have no idea what happened and if that means nobody got hurt, that's the good news. Check out the photo plus another sunset moment in the second part of the post.
