ARE YOU READY FOR 2012?
You better be because like it or not, it's coming our way ... and sooner than expected
Never before has a date in history been so significant to so many cultures, so many religions, scientists, and governments. Don't tell me you haven't heard about the year 2012!? Let me depress you for a minute ;-)
The Long Count Calendar of the Ancient Mayans ends on Dec 21 2012. There isn't much information regarding what the Mayans thought would occur in 2012, but the consensus of opinion is that there will be great change. To some people this means a positive, spiritual change.
John Major Jenkins and others claim that an alignment will occur when the sun rises above the horizon on December 21 2012, at which point the sun will rise in the middle of the Milky Way Galaxy, thus causing an alignment between the earth, sun, and the galactic center. It is claimed that this event will cause numerous changes on Earth.
Among other possible scenarios is that a shift of the Earth's magnetic poles may occur, and that this will leave the earth vulnerable to harmful radiation from the sun (and that's the fun one ...)
But 2012 is also claimed by some beliefs to be a great year of spiritual transformation. There is disagreement among believers whether 2012 will see an end of civilization, or humanity will be elevated to a higher level.
Personally I am not ready for the end of the world or any kind major changes (I don't even like changing my order at my favorite restaurant! So talk about apocalypse!) Hollywood studios should be ready by November 2009 with this new movie called 2012. On a more positive note, we are all going to die eventually so why not dying all at the same time, once and for all !? We would not know the difference ... Below you can watch the excelent teaser of 2012! It is the 3rd time I watch it and I still gives me the chills.
