Rio de Janeiro’s mayor is slamming an Italian clothing company’s new ad campaign, and we understand why! I know that controversy sells but bad taste … I am not so sure.
The ad shows men dressed as Rio police officers roughly arresting and molesting women.
Mayor Eduardo Paes told Rio’s O Globo newspaper Sunday that he may petition the Italian embassy to ask the operators of Relish clothing to take down billboards in Italy, which he says are “in bad taste.”
One of the ads shows a man in a police uniform wrestling a high-heeled woman to the ground on a Rio beach, handcuffing her and pushing her head into the cobblestones. Another shows a supposed police officer pushing a woman against a car and putting his hand up her dress.
