JAMES FRANCO BECOMES A MAN
after being named Harvard's Hasty Pudding Man of the Year
James Franco got a spoof bar mitzvah and had to milk a "gay" cow after being named Harvard's Hasty Pudding Man of the Year. Each year the awards are given, by the Hasty Pudding Theatricals at Harvard, to entertainment performers who have made a lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment.
James, whose mother is Jewish, said he was not raised Jewish. He said he once told The New York Times he felt deprived because he never had a bar mitzvah. "Yeah, I guess I wasn't a man until tonight," he joked after the mock ceremony.
The ceremony featured a "Rabbi Spider Man" and "Yentl Express" dancers who performed in drag to "Havah Nagila."
"I don't know if this counts in rabbinical law or whatever, but if it doesn't, I do plan to have a bar mitzvah," James said. More photos in our gallery below.
