As most of you probably know I (Alek) am born and raised in Serbia before moving to France when I was 20y/o. So no wonder Steph and I have always been following what is going on in this little but beautiful country :-)
Then a few days ago we have got an e-mail from a guy that lives in the City I was raised in CACAK telling us how much he likes OhlalaMag and that he has a blog too, and it is all about Balkan beauty called Balkan Males. So above is the image that we like the most on the blog, and bellow is the first article our new correspondent from Balkans Nikola has wrote for OhlalaMag. Enjoy...
Serbia is living it's fashion revival through its young designers like Tijana Pavlov. She was born in Belgrade in 1980. Tijana has graduated at Faculty of Applied Arts, University of Belgrade at Costume Design department. For the past year she has been designing in the field of men's fashion only, and she has been trying to move borders of men's fashion in Serbia through colors, shapes and slogans. She often combines her design with compound-meaning messages in a form of prints witch is one of the main characteristics of her craft.
Tijana Pavlov is recipient of "Pantene Beauty Award" for the year 2007 in the category of "Best Young Fashion Designer of the Year". She introduced her work for the first time at XX Fashion Week with a graduate collection called "Image for Village and Ties for Guys" She is collaborating with photographer Zoran Trifunovic and fashion house " Mim Fashion", and works as a free-lance designer and stylist for McCann Erickson and New Moment New Ideas Company. Bellow you can see more images of her work.
