WE LOVE DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES
Yesterday was nice and sunny but instead of heading west to the beaches as we usually do on weekends, we have turned left down the hill and went to Downtown Los Angeles.
3 reasons, one of our compatriote, Alex, organized an exhibition called 'French Artist in L.A.' at the Continental building. The second reason was that Alek never went to fabulous Disney Concert Hall and the third reason well ... it was not hot enough to go to the beach ;-)
Let's go back to 'French Artist in L.A.' for a minute. The exhibition featured, Fabrice Spies, Martine and Aurelia Santoni, Olivier Pozjam, Pierre Loic Denichou, Alexandra Pastorino, Philippe Detzen and yesterday was the closing event.
The space is fantastic, and it will be cool if one of our future photo-painting exhibitions takes place there!
Downtown Los Angeles is changing so fast, we really love to go there on weekends because it has this 'second life' that you cannot experience during the week. It's cosmopolite with a huge latin flavor and depending which street you're on, it can have this ghost town feel ... It's hard to describe but we absolutely love the energy, the people and the architecture.
I am glad to see that no matter how much renovation and remodeling have been going on in Downtown Los Angeles (in the past few years every single building have been renovated or his under renovation) and as you can see below, facades are being preserved while ultra modern condos are erected in the back!
