WELCOME TO ZUMA BEACH MALIBU
Today was so nice that as soon as we woke up, we through beach towels in the car and drove west to the beaches. For a change we went to Malibu and we drove further west to Zuma Beach. As you can see on the map below, it does not look that far from where we live but it takes a good hour and a half if you drive on Sunset Boulevard and the PCH.
Zuma Beach is one of the many beaches of Malibu. It is also one of the most popular and consistently ranks among the healthiest beaches for clean water conditions in the Los Angeles County. And even if the water is just as cold as it is in Santa Monica, you can tell it's crystal clear.
We have installed our 'beach camp' on the southern part of Zuma beach, close to Point Dume (below) and it took us a couple of hours to realize that people are using it to rock climb, it's a pretty amazing scenery, wherever you look there are hot guys, surfers, beach volley and cliff hangers, we loved it! All that was missing was another hot guy skydiving in a speedo, landing on our towels to bring us refreshments ;-)
I am glad the water was too cold because everytime I see this (below) I tempt to panic and scream SHARK! SHARK! What do I know!? I am not a dolphinologist. Thanx Steven Spielberg by the way!
I mean come on, you have to agree that mother nature is quite a joker on this one ;-) I remember when we went to Rio de Janeiro I actually was in the water when a bunch of dolphins decided to play around us, the cuteness of it only comes after a heart stopping fear ... I love the beach but I feel much safer in my pool where all I have to worry about is if the PH is right ;-)
Zuma Beach is sure on the list of the places where we will be spending most of our time this summer. It's a very local crowd comparing to Venice Beach, and a totally different feel from the previous Malibu beach we have been to but it is just as nice. Enjoy more photos we took today in the gallery below.
