5.0 EARTHQUAKE IN LOS ANGELES

This is the second quite important earthquake we had in the past couple of weeks. On May 1st a 4.4 quake in Malibu shook the city [4.4 Earthquake in Los Angeles] Tonight another and stronger quake was felt here in Los Angeles all the way down to the Mexican border.

As we were getting ready to watch the season finale of Desperate Housewives, I jumped on our sofa and weirdly the sofa kept moving ... I was afraid that it was time to already replace our new sofa when Alek runned out of the office and asked me "Did you fell it!?" Then I was relieved that our sofa does not need a remplaçant ;-) The 5.0 quake was located in Inglewood which is close to LAX.

Thanx to Twitter we know that Ryan Seacrest is fine, I could have huged him to keep him safe while everything was shaking around ;-)

UPDATE: Minor damage including broken glass windows in the North Long Beach area and falling dishes and books from shelves in other surrounding areas have been reported..

According to USGS seismologist Susan Hough, there will likely be more aftershocks in the 3-4 magnitude range. There is a 5 percent chance for THE BIG ONE.
