BELGRADE FASHION WEEK

Belgrade Fashion Week is the premium fashion event not only in Serbia but in the region of the South East Europe. It is also the oldest Fashion Week in whole East Europe. Launched in 1996, in turbulent and troubled times for the Balkans it grew up to be, 12 years later, the most important and the most talked about fashion event in that part of Europe and also the real generator of the regional fashion scene and career launcher for many young designers. Confirmation for that came from the global satellite Fashion TV channel itself, which recently opened FTV SEE (Fashion TV South East Europe) in Belgrade.
The jubilee, 25th edition of the Belgrade Fashion Week has just ended and we bring you the most interesting moments, in pictures and words, right away from the source itself, our correspondent Alexandar Lambros.
So let's start with the ladies. Quite a few Serbian designers has showed their new women's collections. A certain start of the 25th Belgrade Fashion Week was Ana Sekularac who lives and works in London and regularly participate at the London Fashion Week and whose models are worn by celebrities such are Victoria Beckham, Roisin Murphy, Myleene Klass, Margo Stilley and others. Her lates collection will be on sale in famous London's Harrods.
Her name sake, young Serbian designer Ana Ljubinkovic demonstrated the all creative potential of the Serbian fashion scene with her collection “A Man Who Licked the Moon” inspired by Serbian folk costumes and uniforms.
Irena Grahovac is master of design when it comes to leather and fur and that's the reason her career span outside Serbia as well - she cooperated with Veronica and Imperio companies, the leading companies for leather and fur production.
Tamara Radivojevic who graduated from Central St. Martin College in London designs for young, urban women who like unusual and unique clothing pieces of top quality as it can been seen from the pictures of her models.
Dejana Momcilovic graduated from Royal Academy Of Fine Arts in Antwerp, fashion department. She worked for A.F.Vandevorst, Dries Van Noten and other well known Belgian designers. Her A/W 2009/10 collection shown at the 25th Belgrade Fashion Week was, according many, one of the best.
Bata Spasojevic, the favorite of many local celebrities, also showed his latest collection, for both, women and men as well.
Dejan Despotovic has been very busy showing his brand spanking new Autumn/Winter 2009 Collection at the 25 th Belgrade Fashion Week. This 22 years old Belgrade designer is already a star heard of as far as London and Melbourne. And if you have a look at the photos with his models you will realize why.
