UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD!
BETTER THAN THE VIP TOUR THE RECESSION TOUR
This week we have Vincent a good friend visiting from Paris, it is his first time in Los Angeles, first time to the US which means a lot of things to do. Universal Studios Hollywood is a classic so that was our first stop.
My biggest problem with those theme parks is the crowd (like many people I guess) and always imagine it would be cool to have the park for myself ... be careful what you wish for because it may sounds great but to tell you the truth it was actually kind of scary! Theme parks are not supposed to be empty and as much as I hate it, the crowd is part of the experience. I went to Universal Studios maybe 10 times (winter, summer, week day, weekends ...) and NEVER have I seen the place that empty. And the line is very thin between fun and pathetic when you have cartoon characters dancing around ... on their own!
Many people have been laid off from theme parks in the last few months. Disney had to say goodbye to 1900 executives last month :-( Unfortunately service related jobs are in front of the line when heads fall down and so many people depend on those jobs.
As I have just said it was so quiet that at some point, Sponge Bob followed me into the candy shop and was kind of hitting on me ... not that I don't like yellow but it was pretty creepy ;-) So I took my marshmallows dipped in Chocolate and run back to Alek who was waiting for me at Rue de L'Amour in the French Courtyard.
Among the different great things to do Waterworld remains one of my favorite shows to see. It is such a cool show and it never gets old. Looking at people getting soaked wet is always a fun sight ... especially when they are cute ;-) It's not my fault if the guy sitting in front of me, who received a bucket of water on his head, happened to be super hot! Too bad he was not wearing white :-P Hey ... One can always dream right !?
Talking about Waterworld, the actor/stuntman impersonating Kevin Costner character (apparently from Angels and Demons) was very OhLaLa! We have more photos of him and from Universal Studios Hollywood in the gallery below.
