WE'VE BEEN TO PARADISE (COVE) AND WE LOVED IT
Coming from the South of France there is something that I miss in Los Angeles (besides charcuteries, pâtés et cornichons ;-) what's missing here (nobody's perfect) are the little beaches with cafes right on the sand ... most of the beaches are next to giant parking lots and if you go to Venice beach don't try to find a restaurant to relax while you watch the sunset and listen to the waves (what you'll get are weirdos doing whatever may bring a dollar or two and the sweet noise of drums coming from the local 'peace and love' gang who think they are making one with the elements !!!)
But this week we found our piece of paradise called Paradise Cove for obvious reasons. I am pretty sure that on weekends you can kiss goodbye your tranquility but during the week it's HEAVEN!
Spounge Bob Square Pants: The Movie was filmed there !!! I know so romantic right !? Sponge Bob is so gay, I kind of had that feeling last week at Universal Studios. Paris Hilton's Stars Are Blind video was filmed there too... Ok enough with that already !!!!
Since the beach is kind of private there are rules and unfortunately you cannot bring your dog, you cannot surf (meaning no surfers ... that sucks!) and it is forbidden to smoke (for those that care)... it's Paradise but it's still California ;-)
More seriously Paradise Cove is amazing (if you do not smoke, can leave your dog home for an afternoon without crying and are not into surfer sighting!)
I am glad we took the opportunity to have our friend Vincent from Paris with us for a week to finally go to this beach, so many people told us about. The Beach Cafe restaurant is really good and not overpriced at all (concedering it is the only one here) but you can bring your own food and tables are available for you to look cheap right next to the restaurant. It's OK nobody is gonna laugh at you ...
Paradise Cove is located in the Malibu community and right before Zuma beach [Welcome to Zuma Beach Malibu]. Paradise Cove has a site [Paradise Cove Malibu] even tho I believe our photos will speak more about the place than their 1992's website! They should totally hire us ;-)
Enjoy more photos in the gallery below! Sometimes it does not take an endless plane ride and exhausting jet lag to find a piece of Paradise, in this case it took us a 40 minutes convertible ride ;-)
