2009 LA PRIDE IN WEST HOLLYWOOD
I have to admit that Prides are not our favorite things to do but just out of respect for the people who fought for the rights we have today (even tho the fight is still on) it is important to be there. It's easy to take things for granted and if you think you're better than a parade think again ...

Even if prides have lots of people who just like to drink and party, it does not matter why you want to be there that day, there are parents, parents of gays, children of gays, straight, bi, trans ... Kids who are not out yet and can see the diversity (and I am not talking about the flamboyant part that ironically some gays cannot stand) you'll see couples, families, people holding hands ... I would say it is a pretty important day.
It is funny the reactions caused by Gay Prides, especially from gays themselves, judging and discriminating, are gay people that close minded!? If you want to see people like you (that you conceder normal ... and I am just dying to meet someone who will explain to me what normality is!!) then just come and join, you'll see those people are already there.

That being said it takes a lot of effort to come and see the West Hollywood Parade, it's boring, endless and has a major lack of interest in general. We do admire the parents of gays who come to do the parade and gays from the police (soon from the army !?) Oh I bet there will be gays who stop thinking they are better than aparade the day military will join the parade you'll see ... but besides that big YAWN all you will get from that morning is a couple of free passes for adult sites and eventually a farmer tan line, unless you take off your shirt which I always recommend ;-)
