AIR FRANCE JET MISSING OVER THE ATLANTIC :-(
First AirFrance Fatal Loss Since Concorde
This is so not how I wanted to start my week. As soon as I woke up, I was still in bed when I have received a mail from a friend who is a flight attendant.
I had to read that line 3 times. One of our good friend Sebastien who comes to visit us in Los Angeles every-month and who is still in charge of our moving from France (bag by bag) was in Rio and was on the Air France plane that left before the one that disappeared. I just cannot imagine how he must feel because he has spent a couple of days with all of them there and shared a breakfast with some just before leaving.
I am so glad he has landed safe in Paris but really feel the pain for the 228 people on board and those who have lost someone on this flight.
The Air France plane with 228 people on board was presumed to have crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on Monday after hitting heavy turbulence during a flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris.
Some of you may not know but I was a flight attendant for Air France for 11 years. During my 11 years I had to face so many 'minor' problems flying, but one day after the take off from Latin America our plane was caught in heavy turbulence and I was badly hurt with the rest of the crew, luckily all the passengers on the 747 were still seated and fasten. We were thrown onto the ceiling before bouncing up and down from the floor to the ceiling for about 5 seconds.
That day I though we were going to die and have decided to slowly do everything I could to financially be independent from the airline and then quit as soon as I could. This is how OHLALA was born even tho I had no idea I could make a living out of it when we started.
I am extremely sad today and my prayers and thoughts are with those who have lost their lives and those who have lost loved ones.
