A VOLCANO IN LOS ANGELES!?
Looking at those photos we took tonight, it really seems like a volcano erupted north of Los Angeles but this is the result of the wildfires going on for the past few days all over the city. As always the amazing firefighters battling four wildfires around Los Angeles saved hundreds of homes and lives ... those men and women are the true angeles in this city.
On a more personal note, I recently found myself trapped in an elevator that caught fire ... I know my life is so exciting sometimes lol anyway, they arrived almost instantly. I am telling you fire stations should not suffer from budget restrictions ...
Officials said that the air quality throughout much of the Los Angeles Basin and the San Gabriel Valley was slightly better this morning ... and clearly as those photos are showing better does not mean good yet!
Unless your up in the hills or on top of some building, you can't really see the smoke from the streets. The picture above was taken from our place and you can see that the smoke is still very thick over the city, the picture below was taken from the parking at the grove and shows the column of smoke rising from the Los Angeles national Park and the smoke covering the San Fernando Valley.
below a close up of the smoke column rising behind the observatory.
