HOLLYWOOD HILLS /
A GUIDED TOUR by ALEK & STEPH ;-)
Yesterday was a pretty fun and relaxing day at the beach [A Perfect Day for L.A. Plage] and even tho today was a work day we have spent most of our time outside.
As soon as we got back home, we jumped in our sneakers and went for a hike in the Hollywood Hills.
I have to be honest and tell you that walking up a giant hill is not my favorite thing to do, but the amazing views makes the all thing pretty fun.
Today was so clear that you could see all the way to Catalina island, which we should be paying a visit to in the weeks to come.
The more you 'climb', the more amazing it gets, and even after two years it never gets old trust me.
The global view of L.A. and Hollywood is pretty cool and green but the fun part is the sneek-peak at the mega mansions all around.
The Hollywood Hills have some of the most incredible houses you will ever get to see. The style is a bit chaotic and you will find a mountain lodge next to an ultra modern contemporary house.
The latest mansion to be completed in the hills is this house below. Infinity pool, outdoor lounge, a spa hanging above the pool and amazing views. That is my kind of house ;-) I am pretty sure the value of such a house is something around 6 million. But with this economy you never know maybe it was a bargain at just 4 million ;-P
Otherwise you have the French Riviera style [below] it totally reminds me of the house you see around Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat in the south of France.
If you are not into French things ;-) You can always live in a more traditional house with a latin flavor like this one below. And because of the lack of space in the hills It comes with a pool on the rooftop terrace. Pretty cool right !?
Or you can buy a contemporary villa with floor to ceiling glass walls to maximize your views and minimize your privacy. That is why the current owner who is a mega celebrity has opted for the black curtains which can allow you to see outside and not the outside to see the inside, clever!
But the most common style is the Spanish style, after all Mexico is pretty close and once this land [not such a long time ago] was even part of Mexico! Personally I love this style but could never live in a house so big ... I would be a tiny little bit afraid at night :-(
Yes, the Hollywood Hills is a pretty cool place to live in!
