DUBAI /
BURJ DUBAI KHALIFA OPENING
Et voila the world's
Dubai’s Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum opened the world’s tallest tower today and renamed it after the ruler of neighboring Abu Dhabi, which bailed out Dubai during the country’s debt crisis last year.
The construction of the 200-story Burj Khalifa designed by Chicago-based Skidmore took 5 years for a total cost of $1.5 billion, while mainly residential, the building will have 37 floors of office and retail space.
Apartment prices in the tower, formerly known as Burj Dubai, have fallen to less than half of the original price and the building has some of the highest maintenance fees in Dubai.
On top of that if you wish to buy yourself a condo in the Burj Khalifa ... you won't even be able to visit OhlaLa which is censored in Dubai, making this the worst investment in the world ;-)
Even tho Dubai should be saving its money right now they did a pretty fireworks.
i sm short of words! its so very beautiful! i must see it!

I heard that even though this has officially opened, it's not finished yet!
Even so, personally I think it looks great (as far as buildings go!) but you wouldn't catch me with an apartment there even if I did have the money!

It seems like what ever that Dubai’s Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum does, he does it with a bang. I like his style.
Good for him.

A true accomplishment in the world of construction. It's a bitter sweet feeling. A great achievement in tough economic times.

très impressionnante, certes, mais rappelons que les conditions de travail de ceux qui l'ont construite tenaient plus de l'esclavage que d'autre chose...

I curious how much money spent for this building and how much the poor can be helped with that money

Actually, this site is currently unblocked for some reason :)And I finally got the chance to view & comment on ur site. I'm a huge fan.
Anyways people, please don't invest in dubai. It's still heavily in debt (80+ billion $). The city is on verge of bankruptcy. Dubai is not what it used to be. The new focus is ABUDHABI. This is definitely ABUDHABI decade to shine. And why would you post anything about, since it's gay bashing/hating city?
Bye for now, keep up the gr8 work :)
