OREGON / AMAZING ALL THE WAY TO CRATER LAKE
So as you know, we have spent this past week in Oregon with Darion and his family. Not only we've got to enjoyed a lot of relaxing and amazing home cooking, we also saw plenty of amazing places such as Crater Lake.
For the "history" crater lake was formed around 7,700 years ago by the collapse of the volcano Mount Mazama (it must have a been a pretty mess at that time) thankfully 7,700 years later it is one of the most amazing, peaceful and beautiful places we have ever been to.
Crater Lake the deepest lake in the United States and the purest water in North America, not that you want to swim it ... the surface temperatures of the lake water vary between 32°F (0°C) and 66°F (19°C). Yeah it's pretty to look at.
Oh below, is where we have spent the night, the location is just amazing, on the edge of the lake, almost surreal!!!!
Another characteristic of Crater Lake is the color of the water and the reflection of the ever changing sky!
Yes the picture below is the color of the water, a deep blue just like the sky above. Technically, the color of Crater Lake is the product of its great depth, the purity and clarity of its water, and the way solar radiation interacts with water. In short, it's pretty :-)
The color of the lake vary from minute to minute depending on wind, cloud cover, and the angle of the sun!
Crater Lake is truly an amazing destination and we are so happy that Darion and his parents took the time for us to enjoy it.
But Crater Lake was only the destination and the journey was just as enjoyable. So we invite you to enjoy some of the photos Darion, Alek and I took on our way to Crater Lake.
The weather was perfect. Way much nicer hotter than the weather in Los Angeles right now, go figure !!? So we got to enjoy, rivers, waterfalls, pretty flowers, wild animals (including savage Oregon Mosquitos!!!! Trust me even in my 10 years of travel in Africa I have never experience such a savage gang of mosquitos!!!!)
It was an amazing week with amazing people in pure sexy nature, what more do you want in life !!? A HUGE thank you to Darion and his family for making Alek and I feel like home.
Thank you for the pictures. Absolutely beautiful scenery.
