OHLALA INTERVIEW: THOM EVANS (DIEUX DU STADE BOOK)
After interviewing the genius behind the camera Tony Duran, we had decided to interview one of our favorite (former) Scottish international rugby union player, that strikes a pose for DIEUX DU STADE book Thom Evans. Evans was educated at Wellington College, Berkshire. He earned his first cap for the Scottish rugby union side in June 2008 vs Argentina. He was selected in the pre 6 Nations 30 man squad for the recent 2008 Six Nations. Here is what he had to say about Dieux Du Stade experience.
Q: What did you think when you met Tony for the first time ?
T: I was impressed with his energy and enthusiasm for what he was doing. He had a certain story he wanted to portray, and he made it very clear to everyone around how best to achieve that story. I really appreciated his feedback throughout the project.
Q: Was it hard getting naked in front of the camera ?
T: It was at first, but within minutes of shooting and feeling very comfortable, it was fine.
Q: How did your family and friends reacted to you and your brother participating in this project ?
T: They loved it. All my mothers friends pre-ordered the book and were all extremely excited.
Q: Have you ever noticed different way that nudity id perceived in different parts of the world ?
T: Not a huge amount, obviously I know it is frowned on in certain countries due to their religion but thats all.
Q: What was your most interesting moment during the photo shoot with Tony Duran?
T: It would have to be when my brothers head was inches away from touching my penis....that was an interesting one!
Q: Were your team mates jealous when they saw your photos ?
T: I think so. They gave me a bit of stick at first, but then all said that deep down they thought it was awesome, and wished they could of done it too.
Q: Would you repeat this experience if you had the possibility to go back in time?
T: Without question. It was an eye opening experience.
Q: Did this give you more confidence to explore a potential modeling career ?
T: Definately. Tony is regarded as one of best photographers in the world, and to be told that I'd done a good job by a man of that quality and experience was a real lift.
Q: What is your favorite photo in the book ?
T: It has to be the one on the front cover with my brother, I love that one.
Q: Where do you see your self 5 years from now ?
T: I hopefully see myself as an aspiring actor and model whilst continuing to do creative projects with Tony.
