Madonna / A Tribute Song To French Actor Alain Delon "Beautiful Killer"
In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times Madonna talked about her directorial debut with W.E., her upcoming Superbowl performance and her new album MDNA.
On her movie W.E.
"54-day shoot in 2010 spanned New York, London, the English countryside, Paris and the South of France. "It was hell," Madonna said. "In a way, I was very naive. I wrote the script, and I let my imagination go, and I didn't really think of the practicalities of all the different locations I had written and all the different places I was gonna have to go." Madonna said she hopes her movie will find its audience among women, who may relate to Wally's naive fantasies about Wallis' life, and the strength she draws from learning the more complex story. "There's three love stories in the film: There's Edward and Wallis, the blossoming love story between Wally and Evgeni, and there's the love affair between the two women," she said. "It's an important mythological story to tell ... of a woman helping another woman. I don't think it's something that we see very often in films. Mostly, we see women sabotaging other women."
On The Superbowl Performance
"I have 12 minutes and 40 seconds to do something extravagant and exciting in the middle of something that's quite sacred to all of America," she said. "No one's asked me to tone down my moves. They were curious about my costumes and the costumes of the dancers.... They were very clear with us up front that they don't want nipples or anything like that, and I didn't have any intention of doing that, so I was like, 'OK, we're cool.' I'm more nervous about this than most things I've done, simply because ... it's not how I'm used to working. I'm a perfectionist. I like everything to be done just so, and I like to run things and run things and run things until people can do it with their eyes closed."
On Her Album MDNA
The most intriguing news for me was to read about one song on the album tittle "Beautiful Killer" which is a tribute to French film star Alain Delon.
"I've seen every movie Alain Delon's ever made. He's so charismatic."
I am now very curious to ear what she has to sing about him. While I totally agree with Madonna on the fact that Alain Delon was one of the most charismatic actors of its generation, I personaly do not like the person.
I know that this is likely to be the vision of an artist by another artist which takes things on another perspective but with time Alain Delon has become a very egocentric and condescendant person. Just watch any recent interview of him and you'll understand.
He is now mostly known in France for being le President du jury a Vie (President of the Jury for life) of the Miss France election. Seriously President of the jury for life sounds a bit presumptuous but that is just the way he is. A bit like Donald Trump here in the US. What's up with egomanic old men and their beauty contests?
If the song is positive which I do not see why it should not be, the man will for sure be flaterred by the fact that someone wrote something about his "ego" ... I mean "charisma" but the tittle "Beautiful Killer" sounds like a catch ... should be interesting.
I met the character once for a "blessing" extended period of 12 hours and let me tell you that I did not really enjoyed it. I am a pretty good judge of character, not in a "judging" way if you see what I mean, but more on the human and energy level. It takes me a couple of seconds to pick up things on someone, sometimes very personal informations ... Call it a gift, it has mostly made my life a hell not being able to be surrounded by certain persons in order to avoid certain negative energies. Can't believe I am actually talking about this, anyway ...
That being said I am super excited to hear what MDNA has to sing about ALDL.
