'La Garçonne' By Aleksandar Tomovic For Bello Mag #35
In this issue of Bello Mag, we had the pleasure to feature the stunning model Erika Linder. She was photographed in Los Angeles by Aleksandar Tomovic [alekandsteph] styling Warren Alfie Baker. Hair and Makeup Stacey Hummell. Guest appearance, Baxter, the most fashionable dog on the West Coast ... and maybe in the entire world ;-)
"Inspired by Margueritte's novel, fisrt published in 1922, la Garçonne is a fashion interpretation of a young girl that refuses to live by the rules of society. The novel addresses the, somewhat, ambiguous realm between definite gender roles, where a Judeo-Christiano patriarchal society might place a free-thinking, free-living woman in its social strata. But in our story, we blur the boundaries between sexes even more. Although the therm is not particularly shocking in the present day,(at the time it was considered quite scandalous), it caused the author to lose his legion of honour. It has been adapted into a film four times. Erika Linder was a perfect choice to interpret this story, and we also did a short interview about what she thinks the therm represents today"
