L.A. Postcards / #EndLessSummer Edition
Let's be honest, one of the main reasons why we moved from Paris to California (rather than New York) is the weather and the relaxed beach way of life.
I soon realized that very few people actually take time to enjoy what L.A. has to offer. If I had to drive to work everyday I would move my ass back to Europe asap ... no matter what we do, we always keep in mind one thing, to keep our quality of life.
Moving continents, carreers and life is not an easy task but looking back at what we have accomplished in the past few years I think we have succeded.
The tricky part it to remind yourself that you do have to work once in a while ... working from home requires a lot of discipline that I sure don't have. If it is sunny and over 80 degrees outisde all I can think of is going for a swim and reading a book by the pool. And I did a lot of that since we came back from France this past July.
Now that temperatures are cooling down a bit, I will be able to go back to my paintings. Painting is really interesting, I can stay away from it for months and then suddenly spend all day and nights painting.
One of the perks of working from home is being able to work super late at night which gives you the freedom to go at the beach on a weekday. Now that the official summer is over going to the beach is so nice. it's pretty much the seagulls, the life guards and us.
There are so many cool nearby spots along the coast from Malibu to the OC. I always prefered places where you can eat with your feet in the sand. Back on the Beach in Santa Monica is a really nice and convenient place if you do not feel like driving on the PCH.
