L.A. Postcards ... Are We There Yet? Xmas Edition
Like every year I cannot wait for "the most wonderful time of the year" to be over. Xmas is for sure not a spirit that gets into me ... it's cute for a minute, but the minute was over - long ago - and I knew it would be a painful and long period when Xmas songs started to play on the radio the day after thanksgiving ...
The good thing about living in L.A. is that except for this weekend where people are going nuts in malls and various shopping areas, you don't really pay attention to Xmas, plus this year I have seen more Menorahs around town than Xmas trees.
The other good news (besides the fact that Xmas is almost over) is that we all survived the end of the world, now some are saying that it may be on the 24th ... in any case I always believed that the end of the Mayan calendar was more the begening of a new era. Our world and society has a lot of responsabilities now ... and it is not up to the Mayans to decided if the world is going to end but up to us to try not to screw things up for the near future.
Alek's father is staying with us for the holidays and since they are Orthodox I don't even have to worry about celebrating anything right now :-) We did celebrate Saint Nicholas on the 19th (the original Santa) with a lunch on the beach but besides that we do enjoy all the non-xmassy things LA has to offer.
In the non Xmas spirit we will take the road tomorrow morning direction Las Vegas ... You can follow us on Instagram - AlekandSteph or BelloMag.
One things that I will always appreciate more than a character re-invented by Coca Cola are the amazing sunsets of California. It's daily and stress-free :-)
