OhLaLa Paris ....
It's been quiet around here this past week ... it's only because I went to visit family and some friends on the other side of the world. Some of you may remember back in the 00's when OhLaLa once was called OhLaLaParis. Living in Paris was fantastic and today, when I am just a tourist in my city, I have way too many things I like to do ... One thing I love for sure, the eiffel tower and it does not gets old at all. I keep looking at it like if it was the very first time. Even tho it is winter in France, I escaped a big snow week and was able to enjoy some sunshine.
Before going to Paris I went to the South of France, Toulouse, where I was born to visit my family.
Toulouse is a beautiful place. Now that I live in LA, which besides the palm trees and blue sky has no architectural style in particular, I feel like I am transported back in time (almost medieval) when I walk around my town.
Now let me take you on my Parisian promenade ...
The first thing I like to see when I am in Paris is the Eiffel Tower. I have landed at 8pm from Toulouse and I could see it sparkling from the plane while landing so that was a good start :-)
The second thing I do when in Paris, is put on some comfy shoes and walk around all day. I happened to be staying at a friend's house rue violet in the XV, really close to the Eiffel tower ...
For my one day in Paris I chose Le Cafe Marly at the Louvre, it is very French, the food is amazing, great service and the view is very OhLaLa!
Once our lunch was done we walked through the Tuileries Garden all the way to Place de L'etoile at the end of the Champs Elysees.
I had to pay a visit to the Abercrombie & Fitch store just to see if the greeters were up to standards ;-) and I was not disapointed ... inside it is pretty much the same, I am not sure if it is because it was Paris but I found it nicer.
When the rain arrived I knew it was time for me to fly back home to California.
I always fly Air France but this time I was in the new terminal and it is pretty chic.
The 11 hours flight seemed like 4 hours, a delicious lunch, a mega nap, 2 movies and a dinner later, I made it back home to Los Angeles.
Most of the photos were also posted on our Instagram account [AlekandSteph]
I always love your french vacation report and photos!
