In the words of Elsa Mars in this season finale of American Horror Story: Freak Show:
SHEISSE! WHERE ARE THE WRITERS?
Overall this season has been the most disappointing because I had the most anticipation and excitement for (so I agree, that was my fault) Always set your expectations low in life if you don’t want to be disappointed, I know that but still. I am not sure who between Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk like to f**k things up the most? I think both of them are great creators but when it comes to the production …
This Freak Show season: too many cooks in the kitchen, both on screen and behind the scenes I guess. At some point I did not really care for any of them. I think Finn Wittrock (Dandy) was pretty amazing, Jessica Lange (Elsa) delivered great performances as always. Many great actors went to waste this season. I think editing is the key word. Next time maybe don’t put everyone at once. It is great to promise everyone’s ego to shine but the result was a mess.
This episode in particular for me went from uncomfortable to ‘what the hell is happening’.
Uncomfortable because I hate scenes with cold blooded gunmen shooting people. I just don’t want to see it. It is horrible (so for that well done I guess) and then the happy wedding out of nowhere, the maid. Really Dandy you did not pay attention to who was serving you? the ‘we all look like the same to you’ line was so lame. Then Hollywood and the realization that being rich and famous is not what’s important in life. I mean what kind of message AHS wanted to give to the audience this year? Then comes the ‘sex-torture-tape’ release and the final Halloween performance watched by the Freak Show survivors while they enjoy their happily ever after life, even tho they are all cold blooded murderers. Also I was happy that Bette and Dot were expecting but Evan Peters touching Sarah Paulson’s pregnant belly with his wooden hands #LOL.
That just reminds me that I don’t even know what happened to Neil Patrick Harris (Chester). I think he went to report a doll murder at the police station but did he died after that?
And then it was the end of Elsa, a grand goodbye to Jessica Lange by her dear friend Ryan Murphy sending her to a paradise where all is forgiven. A place where my petite is still petite, where if you were born in life without legs then you won’t get them back in Paradise (or was it hell? anyway …) and every nights people come to enjoy the great Elsa Mars show. Choke on your Pop-Corn. The End.
