In other A&F news, the company will close its 29 Ruehl stores and related operations by the end of the year. Abercrombie as a whole hasn't reported sales growth since April 2008 [The Wall Street Journal] Will Anthony's smile be enough to balance the lack of new collections and high prices !?

CELEBRATING THE SUMMER WITH ABERCROMBIE & FITCH

For some reason Abecrombie & Fitch has recently decided to take down its famous Sunset Boulevard billboard. While we are still hopping for a bigger and better erection somewhere else on the strip, we still have their website, not updated very often with new photos but once in a while you have a new face and a new six pack.

We know it's always the same, but there are things that we do not mind seeing over and over again, like the sunshine when we wake up every day in California, well A&F images are pretty much the same ;-)

R.I.P. ABERCROMBIE & FITCH BILLBOARD :-(

The world famous Abercrombie & Fitch billboard on Sunset Boulavard in West Hollywood is gonne !!!!!



Erected many years ago for the pleasure of L.A. drivers, the famous billboard is no more my friends. My only hope is that they are making it higher and bigger, but I am afraid that with the economy the A&F buttboard is another victim of the budget cuts ... ouch! A&F joke aside, we keep on seeing business well etablished for years going out of business almost everyday here in Los Angeles :-(



Stay strong and keep hanging out there a change is coming (at least that is what we've been told!)

Over a year ago we have announced on OhLaLa that Abercrombie & Fitch was launching a new brand called Gilly Hicks Sydney, focusing on what their models wear the least ... underwear :-)

This week the site was finally launched (thanx the Stephen from Atlanta for the info) I have to say that after one year of hoping and waiting I recently gave up.

My first impression is quite good. You have to know that Gilly Hicks is only for women's underwear! I know it is kind of disappointing, but you know that with A&F no matter what they want to sell and to whom they want to sell it, male nudity is always a must (I just love them ...) Gilly Hicks is no exception and we have the images to prove it in our special Gilly Hicks gallery below.

Josh Pence [Nous Model] is the perfect endorsement for Calvin Klein underwear :-) Josh who did some modeling for Abercrombie & Fitch back in 2005 [See the photos] is also an actor and played in My Super Sweet 16, CSI Miami and CSI NY last year and will be featured in 'The Things We Carry' [IMDB]

He was recently photographed by Mario Testino with Gisele Bundchen in Santa Monica for Stefanel [Giseles Bundchen and Josh Pence in Santa Monica]

We have already talked about Ruehl, you kne the funky-edgy-urban version of Abercrombie & Fitch. Besides the location of the photoshoot it's basically the same [Tyler Lugh Naked in NYC for Ruehl] So after Tyler for Ruehl, let me give you Doug Porter [Major Model]



No Doug is not getting naked, and anyway we recently had the pleasure to see Doug in his birthday suit, thanx to Bruce Weber [OhLaLa He's Naked! Doug Porter by Bruce Weber]

OHLALA RYAN KENNEDY FOR LOUIS VUITTON

Back in August we gave you the first look at the new Fall Winter 08/09 Louis Vuitton ad campaign [OhLaLa So Chis Ryan Kennedy for LV] featuring the beautiful Ryan Kennedy [Select Model Management]. Today we give you a new snowy shot of Ryan for Louis Vuitton. You may recognize Ryan from his Abercrombie era, of course it is kind of hard to recognize him with all those clothes on and sunglasses ... when Abercrombie always goes for the lighter version for their models [Louis Vuitton]

ABERCROMBIE & FITCH NEW AD IN LOS ANGELES

Paying or waiting in line at the cashier is rarely the most enjoyable part of the shopping experience, but Abercrombie & Fitch manage to make bearable with a 'kebbab' of 9 lower backs featuring major model Tyler Kenyon (first on the left) If you recognize any other back feel free to share ;-)

TYLER LOUGH NAKED FOR RUEHL No.925

Abercrombie is a real empire, with many brands like Gilly Hicks Sydney. RUEHL No.925 is inspired by the artsy Manhattan's neighborhood: Greenwich Village. What screams more Greenwich Village than a loft with naked guy !?



They have a new film to promote the winter season, but what we like with the Abercrombie spirit is that they manage to get their models naked no matter the season ... and it works for me, especially if it is Major Model Tyler Lough who has to get naked to sell more clothes :-P [Source Abercrombie & Fitch Blog]
