We were expecting our lives to be fun and glamorous when we have decided to move from Paris to los Angeles ... but not on that level!
Lately we have been working harder for you, our fabulous readers to keep OhLaLa updated, but our main occupation which some of you may not know is photography. For the past couple of months we have been doing it a lot and we are loving it, of course it is exhausting but looking at those photos I am sure nobody is gonna feel bad for us ;-)
We had a photoshoot up in the hills with two great models, Natalia S. and Anthony B. [Nous Models] You have previously seen Anthony on OhLaLa with some great photos shot by Tony Duran [Anthony Baldwin by Tony Duran]
Hope you'll enjoy those photos we have snapped yesterday just for you. Below one song that we like and I think will go nicely with the mood, Your Dream is My Dream by Tortured Soul.
Jonathan Waud was a runner-up on the latest season of Bravo’s reality competition, Make Me A Supermodel, but many thought he should have been awarded the winner after being voted the show’s Fan Favorite on BravoTV.com. A dedicated family man, Jonathan endures a hectic schedule, balancing work while still making quality time to share with his wife and 21 month old son. He has lived in Los Angeles for three years, but was born and raised in Southampton, England. A graduate of the University of the West of England in Bristol, Jonathan earned a degree in French and International Business.
Along with Jonathan's interview we have for you the very first look at the photoshoot we did with him last week in Los Angeles. Jonathan is such a nice person and a fantastic model to work with.
Tell us about your experience on Bravo's Make me a Super Model show ?
JW: It was unlike any other experience I've ever had. Being confined 24/7 with 15 other contestants... having a bath or shower was the only real time you could get away from everyone even if for just a minute! Wouldn't change anything about my time on the show, made some great friends and got a chance to take part in once in a lifetime photo shoots.
What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
JW: Creatively, I love going to friends homes and seeing how they have styled their places. There is something in design that I love and drive my wife crazy because I'm constantly wanting to move all the furniture around and repaint all the walls. We actually moved furniture this weekend. Spiritually and emotionally… anything that gives you perspective and lets you see the bigger picture.
If you were a reincarnation of someone or something what or who would it be?
JW: I think I would actually be a sports car… a sports car in the south of France. Whenever I'm down there driving along the coastal road, it brings out this smile so deep down that it’s like I have a coat-hanger in my mouth! Grinning ear to ear. I have such a passion for cars.
What is your most treasured possession?
JW: Easy....my wife and child
Any current projects we should be aware of ?
JW: Working on a couple of things....I could tell you but I'd have to kill you... LOL.
What is your favorite occupation?
JW: Modeling is great fun, as you get to travel and be creative. I also really enjoyed being on the show and hope to be in front of a camera again soon.
Where would you like to live?
JW: I've actually been fortunate to live in many places but I love Los Angeles and New York for completely different reasons.
What is your motto?
JW: Better to regret something you HAVE done than something you HAVEN'T.
What do you wear when you sleep?
JW: Usually I sleep in the buff but if we have guests I rock out in my boxer briefs
Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
JW: 5 years.... continue to do what I love... modeling, have involvement with television, and get to spend time with my family.
Today was not exactly what you call a nice day in California, it would be for the rest of the world, but you know how they are with the weather here! To celebrate the last spring day, and mainly to hangout together our friend Donald, Alek and I drove to Huntington Beach located south of Los Angeles. Usually we are more into closer beaches, Santa Monica and Malibu but a little adventure (45 minutes drive) is always exciting ;-)
I am glad we made our way to Huntington Beach aka Surf City USATM some call it the "Surfing Capital of the World", not for the height of the waves, but rather for the consistent quality of surf. Since we moved to Southern California I have to say that I really enjoy taking photos of surfers. Ok the guys are hot but I am just amazed by those men and women surfing the waves, it's absolutely beautiful to look at.
Of course if you do not surf you're still welcome in Huntington beach, beach-volley or just having fun with your friends in the water ... it's up to you. It was a really nice totally relaxing day and we have for you 21 great photos to enjoy in the gallery below.
Have you missed our recent beach trips!? Don't panic, put on your speedo, take your sun protection and surf the links below ...
Just before the party for the 10th anniversary of All American Guys in West Hollywood last month, Alek and I got a little one-on-two with some of the hottest AAG models in their Sunset Boulevard suite.
On the first picture Justin who you may have seen in Abercrombie and Ralph Lauren latest campaigns. Below, Matt Stone who is absolutely stunning and has some of the most incredible blue eyes and the extremely charming John Sotirios.
Not only it was fun to meet those guys but they were kind enough to pose for us, thanx to our friend Darion, Michael Anthony Downs, Chris Wescott and the All American Guys team for making this possible. See all the photos and more models in the gallery below.
Mirror Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all? Photos by Alek & Steph.
This weekend some of the hottest All American Guys models made their way to West Hollywood for the 10th anniversary celebrations [AAG Celebrates 10 years in West Hollywood] Before the big party, Alek and I were invited to join the boys at their hotel on Sunset boulevard. The view from their suite was just amazing but our attention was more into the room packed with All American Guys hunks.
Thanx to Darion who have been of precious help on the set and to Michael Anthony Downs and Chris Wescott from All American Guys for making this photo session possible :-)
From top to bottom, Justin, Matt, John and Ray. This week we will be posting the entire session we did just for you! Aren't we the sweetest things ever !? ;-)
I love my iPhone, but as much as I love it I hate the camera ... 2 megapixel !!!! Hello mac people it's 2009. Hopefully some cool applications can make the iPhone camera worth using. Yesterday I have downloaded Pano which allows you to take panoramic pictures directly on your iPhone, it is easy to use and as you can see you can take fun pictures :-)
Today after a quick lunch on Sunset with our friend Antoine from Paris, we drove to the X-Men Mansion in Beverly Hills (aka Greystone) and besides being the famous school for mutant teenagers in the movie, it is also one of our favorite parks in Los Angeles.
So I guess from now on, I will be more likely to take photos with the iPhone and share them with you. In the gallery below all the panoramic pictures we took today.
We recently had the pleasure to photograph our friend and model Johnny Markoudakis. Johnny was born in the US with Crete background. He has this stunning Mediterranean look and the body of a living greek statue ... total perfection.
In the gallery below more photos of Johnny by Alek & Steph, hope you'll enjoy them ... Opa ;-)
Here is a series of black an white photos we (Alek & Steph) took in Malibu.
It is only in March of this year that Alek and I really took the time to discover this part of Los Angeles, and since we have been there several times trying to discover new places every-time, even tho now we have a zen for Paradise Cove. Below you can see our previous series of photos from Malibu.
Film and television actor Andrew DiPalma was raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia and began performing at age 6, when he learned to play saxophone, clarinet, guitar and piano. In high school, he relocated to Atlanta, where he performed in numerous theater productions and won statewide and regional awards.
DiPalma’s work earned him a prestigious drama scholarship to attend The University of Georgia. Upon graduation, he returned to Atlanta to begin his professional career in acting and enjoyed a year-and-a-half stint with the Southeast’s longest running comedy, “Peachtree Battle.” As a result of his success on the show, he secured multiple regional and national commercials.
In 2006, DiPalma moved to Los Angeles and quickly gained attention for his work in television and film. His many projects have included such films as We Are Marshall, starring opposite Matthew McConaughey and Kate Mara for director McG; Killer Movie, starring opposite Paul Wesley and Kaley Cuoco for director Jeff Fisher; and the upcoming horror Deadgirl, for directors Marcel Sarmiento and Gadi Harel. This fall, he will be co-starring in the much-anticipated feature The Joneses, opposite David Duchovny and Demi Moore.
In television, he has co-starred in the groundbreaking ABC Family series The Middleman. Currently, DiPalma may be seen in platinum-selling artist Lady Gaga’s latest video, “Paparazzi.”
DiPalma lives in Los Angeles and is represented by Michael Greene and Associates in Beverly Hills.
Who is Andrew DiPalma ?
I'm an actor from the East Coast - I was born in Philadelphia and moved to the South for high school and college. I have been in LA for 2 years and I love it. I focus primarily on TV and Film work - and I love doing commercials and print. I speak fluent Spanish and love to travel. I've been really lucky with my journey out here in LA - I've teamed up with a lot of great people and things are really falling into place for me. I'm grateful for the way things have turned out.
Where have we seen you before ?
My first film was in 2006 with Kate Mara and Matthew McConaughey called "We Are Marshall," where I played a Marshall University student co-starring with Kate. I recently did a film called Deadgirl, a coming-of-age horror film where I played the quintessential high school "jock" - which was a much edgier, darker role for me. Deadgirl debuted last September at the Toronto International Film Festival during Midnight Madness to sold out screenings and is set for Theatrical release this upcoming July. I had a co-starring role on ABC Family's "The Middleman" as well.
What are your upcoming projects ?
I just finished shooting "The Joneses" which starrs David Duchovny and Demi Moore. I was cast to play David Duchovny's golf instructor. That is due out sometime this year.
Where did you go to college?
I went to The University of Georgia. I have a degree in Spanish, and a degree in Advertising.
What is your favorite city?
My favorite city is Barcelona. I lived there for a year in college to study Spanish. It is, without a doubt, the perfect city for me.
How do you stay in shape ?
I work out :) Going to the gym has become therapeutic for me. I have a ways to go...
What do you enjoy doing in you free time?
Free time - what free time? I work a lot and keep really busy. I like catching up on movies and TV shows that I'm usually behind on.
Where do you see your self 5 years from now?
In five years I hope to have a very successful career in the public eye underway and lots of philanthropic work.
Andrew DiPalma also landed a role in Lady Gaga Paparazzi video. The third single from Lady GaGa’s highly successful debut album, The Fame. Gaga describes her video as “the most amazing creative work that I’ve put together so far. It has a real, genuine, powerful message about fame-whoring and death and the demise of the celebrity, and what that does to young people.”
The video was not set to premiere until June 4, 2009 however, due to a leak, Lady GaGa chose to debut her video today.
In the gallery below more photos of Andrew DiPalma by Alek & Steph.
