"Rock and preppy, smart, as much as casual, the new mesnwear collection LAGERFELD SS12 accurately combines the opposites. Following the thread of a slim line or elegantly fit, the collection reinterprets the codes of menswear, each time twisted with creative details, elivering a complete dressing, in which we pick calibrated silhouettes for a trader, looks for musician dandy as well as tailored outfits for a drink at the club house ...
Thus, in this very functional and stylish spirit, the single-breasted blazer turns modern with denim, the short leather jacket mixes smooth and perforated patches, the seersucker suit is dressed up in pink stripes, the beige gabardine one is black braided while the tuxedo turns to white. Fine knit, denim, leather, poplin, oxford, linen, cotton jersey and pique, cold wool and satin make up a refined material range.
Regarding the colors, a range of gray (silver, graphite or titanium), blue (light blue, royal blue, midnight blue) and pink (light pink, raspberry) comes with checks, tartan, mini hound’s-tooth, stripes and prince-of-wales, laid on shirts, polo shirts’ collar, cuffs of jackets, in jackets and costumes vests’s linings ... As for the graphic black and white duo, inseparable from LAGERFELD, if it remains a major code, it amazes this season with a satin variation, subtly shiny, perfect for ceremonies and why not weddings.
Extremely elegant, the collection is punctuated with numerous chic details: cubic press studs, double collars and “à la Karl Lagerfeld” high collars, arty brush strokes, jacket’s collar reverses adorned with cashmere tie and matching pouch ... Even the figure of the creator, turned into a rocker, finds a place on the heart, embroidered signature on polo shirts and seal displayed on a pea coat buttons instead of the traditional anchors.
A precision that occurs naturally in the line of accessories, just as complete as the collection. For the shoes, one wants the black boots split by royal blue elastic, the patent leather and nubuck sneakers, the derbies shiny as jet or white lacquered. Briefcases, bags, computer bags and weekend luggage mix natural or black leather, logo canvas or smooth skin.
An immediately recognizable line, sharp and signed, that one wants to adopt right away."
