RIO WINS 2016 OLYMPICS!PLUS maRIO DE JANEIRO testino

It is now official Rio de Janeiro will host the summer 2016 Olympics! I am really happy because it is one of my favorite cities in the world and I really really wanted Brazil to win :-) It also makes Brazil the first country in South America to be awarded with the Olympics.

Rio won over Madrid the last city standing. The result of the final ballot was Rio: 66, Madrid: 32. "I honestly believe it is Brazil's time," Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva told the IOC voters. "For the others it will be just one more Games. For us it will be an unparalleled opportunity."

Chicago was considered a frontrunner along with Rio coming into the vote. But, despite President Obama's participation in Friday's final presentation and Michelle Obama lobbying IOC members here the last three days for her hometown, the Second City suffered a stunning first-round exit. Which is no surprises because let's be honest, besides America nobody else in the world really cared for Chicago!

ANTHOLOGY by DOLCE & GABBANA

Made up of five scents, The new D&G Fragrance Anthology is set to launch globally in September. The five fragrances are inspired by different tarot cards, each with a distinct identity and represented by a different model, some of them iconic and all of them naked in the advertising.

Gabbana and Dolce aimed to capture different sides to their personalities in the five fragrances, and gave them names referencing tarot cards and their corresponding numbers.

The scents: Le Bateleur 1, L’Imperatrice 3, L’Amoureaux 6, La Roue de la Fortune 10 and La Lune 18 were created without target, age or gender barriers. Each scent also gets its own face.

Supermodels Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova and Naomi Campbell, Fernando Fernandes, Noah Mills and Tyson Ballou all naked, star in the scent collection’s advertising campaign shot by Mario Testino. Campbell appears in the L’Imperatrice’s visuals, the empress. Schiffer fronts the imagery for La Lune, which is the moon, and Herzigova pairs up with Fernandes in the photo for La Roue de la Fortune, the wheel of fortune.



Mario Testino also shot a TV commercial for the collection. The ads were edited into 30- and 60-second formats. P&G executives refused to discuss budgets, but industry sources estimate, based on the high sales target, that P&G might spend as much as $20 million to $25 million on media alone.

“We choose Claudia, Naomi and Eva for the iconic value they have in the minds of everybody,” said Dolce “They are icons,” added Gabbana, “not just for young women but older women too. Sometimes they are better known than actresses. People need to create icons, to see people they recognize.” [source]

Love the photos, simple but nice and beautiful. I am sure the scents are gonna be great (we always trust Dolce & Gabbana for that!) As I always say, you can never go wrong with hot naked supermodels ...

Back in October we have published the first behind-the-scenes photos of Gisele Bundchen and Josh Pence [Nous Models] shooting with Mario Testino at the beach in Santa Monica for the spring summer 2009 campaign of Stefanel.

HUGO BOSS SPRING SUMMER 2009 BY MARIO TESTINO

The new Hugo Boss Black spring summer 2009 ad campaign was shot by prestigious photographer Mario Testino [Source + more photos]



It's classic, simple, sexy and the result is fantastic. You can hardly see the all scenery is photoshop ... I mean I guess, I don't think the all crew went on a narrow road hanging on a cliff somewhere in the Alps between France and Italy leaving a car in the middle of the road, risking their lives for every shot!

Or maybe they did, all it takes is an authorization to close a road after all ... and I am sure Mario Testino can have anything he wants on this planet.

OHLALA D&G CRUISE ... ON THE SEINE RIVER IN PARIS

My favorite D&G cruise ad campaign was the one shot for the summer 2007 with male models on display at the Dolce & Gabbana's store [D&G Cruise Collection Summer 2007]

This time the D&G gang was photographed by Mario Testino on a boat by the 'Pont Alexandre' in Paris, or in some studio in NYC and then photoshopped with the Eiffel Tower, but I prefer to think they all came to Paris and had a great time on their boat! One more shot after the jump.
