France / Têtu Sold For 1 Euro ... Not The Magazine, The Company ...

According to The Huffinton Post French magazine Têtu was sold "pour 1 euro symbolique" ...

Jean-Jacques Augier is now the new owner of the company, a company loosing a whopping 1,5 millions of euros a year !!!! With an average of 40,000 readers. The good news, if there is a good news in all of this is that the company was sold with enough money to keep things going for 2 years.

The Endeavour Has Landed On Planet Earth ... For The Last Time

This morning after a three-decade career in space the endeavour made its way from San Francisco to Los Angeles, and it was a once in a lifetime sight not to be missed ...

Before landing at LAX the space shuttle flew over Disneyland, Santa Monica, the Griffith Observatory, the Hollywood Sign ... and in between, our home.

We got the most amazing close up of the endeavour flying above us in the Hollywood Hills (not once, but twice!) because our place is already high up the second round was really really close, SO amazing. You could hear people screaming of joy, cheering and OMGs all over the place ... so fun.

Spain / The Tomatina Festival 2012 Edition

Every summer the Spanish town of Buñol is hosting the Tomatina festival.

it all strated when back in 1945 young men who wanted to take part in the Gigantes y Cabezudos parade used the vegetable stand nearby as their way of expression. The next year they brought more tomatoes and it goes on and on ... until today where an estimated 35,000 people get together to through on their friend's face over 120 tons of Tomatoes.

I always have mixed feelings concerning the use of food in other purposes than feeding people ... but I guess people are looking for some sort of stress relieve, in fact this weekend Tokyo will host its very own Tomatina festival.

"On September 9th, at the Tamagawa river in Tokyo, adventurers and pasta sauce enthusiasts alike can participate in a large-scale tomato fight just like the one in Spain." source

Ever dreamed of smashing a tomato in someone’s face?
Ever wanted to see the streets run red…with tomato juice?

Personally my answers to the questions above would be No, No and NO! But that's just me ...

The 2012 Naval Academy Herndon Monument Climb

One of the greasiest events of the year took place a couple of days ago as the Annapolis Naval Academy freshmen make a human wall to climb the 21-foot Herndon Monument covered with lard for the occasion.

It took 19-year-old Andrew Craig, of Tulsa, Oklaoma, a little over two hours and 10 minutes to reach the top of the monument! It's for sure a bonding experience and a great team work ... of course for the glory of it, I guess, most want to be on top but the bottom guy crushed under this human pile is just as important as the guy on top ... See you next year!

OhLaLa The Epiphany Icy Celebrations In Eastern Europe

For the Epiphany in France we eat la galette des rois, but other people in Eastern Europe likes to keep things a little bit more intense than just a slice of cake. So all over eastern Europe, from Serbia to the Republic of Belarus, Russsia and Romania Orthodox are immersing themselves into icy waters on January 19.

Even my better half, Alek who grew up in Serbia did it in a lake. Poor thing, knowing how much he "likes' cold water and does not even want to get into our pool if not heated ... lol.

Above, a men in Belgrade Serbia with a wooden cross that he managed to catch after it was thrown by a priest in the waters of Nisava river.

Belarus men do not mess around! The Servicemen of the Belarussian Interior Ministry's special unit must dip their naked body into the icy waters of a lake ... this tradition must be done regardless of the weather, it's just infortunate that the epiphany is not in July or August ...

The Artist Takes Back 3 Golden Globes To France

Last night here in Los Angeles it was a big night for The Artist with 3 Golden Globes [Best Comedy, Best Actor for Jean Dujardin and Best Original Score].

We have seen the movie a couple of months ago and I have to say that when we got the invitation I was not that excited and did not really want to go to the screening. But I did and I enjoyed it, I was a tiny bit afraid of the non speaking part and the constant music but it worked.

I only went to see the movie because I love Jean Dujardin so I was very happy for him and the rest of the team last night. Jean Dujardin and his wife Alexandra Lamy (whom you may have seen topless last night ;-)...

They both met while doing the famous comedy television serie "1 gars 1 fille" aka "Chouchou et Loulou" in France. Those two are hillarious and I love them so much, it was a bit unrealistic to see them sitting at the Golden Globes tables last night ... Félicitations!
