Just minutes ago, an enormous boom that sounded like an explosion meets an mini earthquake echoed in Los Angeles. That was the signature sonic boom of the space shuttle Discovery landing at Edwards Air Force Base.
Or maybe it was Ryan Reynolds running errands in Los Angeles on his motorcycle ;-)
Some of you may have or have not noticed on our blog and many other blogs, a certain ad for the 'Chuch of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints' aka the Mormons!
Not only we were shocked but outraged by seeing such an ad on our site, so for the past few days we have been exchanging emails, phone calls with the ad company who had no idea what was going on ... But today we found out that the Mormons infringed the rules by applying for a different ad and once accepted ran the ad you may have seen.
After Alek's efforts for days. The ad company have issued a cease and desist to the offending party and it has been removed.
WOW! Can this church go any lower !? The funny and sad part is that some relatively famous blogs, and especially gay owned blogs had no problems with cashing up money from the Mormons and did not react to this violation ... Some are still running the ad as I type this post and prefer not to loose a couple of days of revenues than to turn down the system until the problem is solved. Shame on them!
A study by researchers out of the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth finds up to 90% of U.S. Currency is contaminated with cocaine. The study found the U.S. and Canada had the highest contamination levels, and that bills from larger cities tended to have the most cocaine residue.
They say the amount of cocaine ranged in size from several thousand times smaller than a grain of sand, to up to 50 grains of sand per bill. However, they say it was not high enough to cause any health or legal concerns so no “money laundering” is needed.
So no need to snore on your cash ...
That is for the 'glam' part but I am pretty sure that 100% of the cash around contains things that you sure do not want to touch. Trust me you're better off using your AMEX.
Last week we saw the South Korean soldiers training on the beach [South Korean special warfare command soldiers] It's always more fun to see soldiers in black speedo hugging eachother at the beach ...
Today I just wish those Ukrainian soldiers were also having fun at the beach, but they are busy getting ready for their very own 4th of July on August 24.
Here is a picture of the South Korean special warfare command soldiers doing some exercises southwest of Seoul.
That is one interesting way to do crunches ... I bet your personal trainer has never done that to you! More photos of the training session in the gallery below.
Swedish hunk Alexander Skarsgard [aka Eric in True Blood] was spotted leaving LAX today [INF] It is nice to see him looking a little tan and in the day light ;-) I love turquoise and I think it looks good on him.
Tails for Whales is a global campaign running across every country in the world. One of the latest addition to the tail gallery is Alexander Skarsgard.
And I have to say that Alexander Skarsgard's big whale tail is pretty well done [source] Even if some people did not really get the concept of making a whale tail ... and I am not pointing anyone in particular ...
... the most important is to participate and if it can help it's even better. So what are you waiting for !? Add your tail
By adding your photo you’re becoming part of a worldwide people power movement petitioning governments everywhere to stop whaling once and for all and showing them that, when they do, they have the support of people like you behind them [Tails For Whales]
It is hot in Los Angeles and the weekend is on it ways, so beach is what comes to mind, Alek and I will be making our way to laguna Beach this weekend. But if you are in Los Angeles you may think twice before going for a swim ...
A great white shark was spotted today off Malibu just 500 feet from shore. Roger Murray, a lifeguard for 20+ years, told us that he'd never seen a great white shark, but that they do "live out there"... meaning that they can be found in the waters off Southern California. Now I feel better ...
I have always loved the gay look of matadors ... and that's pretty much it!
Every year in Pamplona Spain on July 6 and for 7 days there is this thing call the San Fermin fiestas. The week long 'celebration' is nothing else than a gigantic open air orgy gathering over 1,000,000 people. Where I lived in the south of France I think I was one of the few who never made it ...
The most popular event is the the encierro aka the running of the bulls. Translation they release bulls in the streets and if you are stupid enough you can run with them knowing you may end up injured or dead!
Even tho a lot of people are against the corridas, the event become more and more popular and I am not even sure that the death of a 27 year old man this year (the 15th since record keeping began in 1924) will change anything! Anyone can participate in the bull run, which means most of them are wasted from the night before probably not realizing what they get into ...
The main reason for those festivities and believe me coming from this part of the world I know what I am talking about is to drink and get wasted. That's all they want, that's all they do.
I am not a vegetarian and I don't think the life of a bull is more valuable than a chicken for example, but cruelty and killing animals for entertainment purposes is something I have a difficult time with.
Isn't that the cutest thing ever !? This alligator snapping turtle originally from the southeastern of the United States was found in the Seine river in Paris! This one is just a baby and could weigh about 220 pounds when adult [see photo]... and it's not only ugly it's dangerous, they are opportunistic carnivores, this means they could chop your hand off if they need a snack [source]
An unconscious Michael Jackson was rushed to UCLA Medical Center on Thursday afternoon by paramedics who performed C.P.R. according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Michael Jackson was confirmed dead just hours later. Michael was 50 and suffered a cardiac arrest. The singer is survived by his three children Michael Joseph Jackson Jr, Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince Michael Jackson II.
Michael Jackson was a legend and just like so many people Alek and I grew up with his music and just like so many we are just under the shock of this sad news. Below one of my favorite songs, The Man in the Mirror.
Media and fans gather outside the home of pop star Michael Jackson on Carolwood Drive in Los Angeles.
"I can't stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless." Madonna
Michael Jackson's body was transported by helicopter by the sheriff from the UCLA Medical Center to LA Coroner Office.
I just saw that Entertainment Tonight released a picture of Michael Jackson dead, I think it is absolutely disgusting. This breach of privacy is sickening. Shame ET, shame!
Today was kind of surreal. Most of the radios in Los Angeles were playing Michael Jackson's songs non stop. And as we drove back home on Hollywood boulevard they played Alek's favorite song, Billie Jean. And that video of a live show is 100% pure Michael Jackson ... oh yeah baby! It makes you wanna dance, you'll be missed Michael but your music will live on forever.
There are so many things that could be say but no one could say it better than Michael Jackson's himself:
Have you seen my Childhood?
I'm searching for the world that I come from
'Cause I've been looking around
In the lost and found of my heart...
No one understands me
They view it as such strange eccentricities...
'Cause I keep kidding around
Like a child, but pardon me...
People say I'm not okay
'Cause I love such elementary things...
It's been my fate to compensate,
for the Childhood
I've never known...
Have you seen my Childhood?
I'm searching for that wonder in my youth
Like pirates in adventurous dreams,
Of conquest and kings on the throne...
Before you judge me, try hard to love me,
Look within your heart then ask,
Have you seen my Childhood?
People say I'm strange that way
'Cause I love such elementary things,
It's been my fate to compensate,
for the Childhood I've never known...
Have you seen my Childhood?
I'm searching for that wonder in my youth
Like fantastical stories to share
The dreams I would dare, watch me fly...
Before you judge me, try hard to love me.
The painful youth I've had
