Paris France

So Chic / Karl Lagerfeld & Vanessa Paradis light up Paris In Chanel Style

610x-3

I do miss a lot of things about Paris ... one of them being the amazing Christmas illuminations, from the popular Champs-Elysées to the chic Place Vendôme it is juste fabuleux! It makes the cold winter walks and shopping excursions in the city almost pleasant.

Today Karl Lagerfeld and Vanessa Paradis aka the Chanel gang turning on the Christmas lights at department store Le Printemps revealing miniatures of the fashion designer climbing famous Parisian landmarks covered with plein de neige, isn't that cute?

Check out photos from last year's windows at Le Printemps here.

It's already July the 14th in Paris, France ... which means it's Bastille day!!!

The countdown has begun ... don't miss it!

And if you are in Paris, you do not want to miss the famous "bal des pompiers" the traditional parties all over the city organized by the sexy French firemen ... we did it a couple of years ago and it was so much fun and so much hotness ;-) See the different locations here.

Check out last year fireworks after the jump.

Hugo & Victor Paris

Hugovictorparis_01
If you are going to Paris France, there's a place you must visit Hugo & Victor. They have two locations, Boutique Rive Gauche 40 boulevard Raspail 75007 and Boutique Marché Saint Honoré 7 rue Gomboust 75001.

Hugovictorparis_02

From outside, it looks like a high-end fashion store, once inside it is more like a jewellery shop with permanent and seasonal collections. Hugo & Victor is not you regular patisserie. The innovative “Hugo” pastry that aims at deconstructing traditional pastry and a more classic “Victor” treat, childhood comfort food – with a twist! that is one of the many many things on my Paris-Must-Do-List ... can't wait for our next trip to France now!

THE SHANGRI-LA PARIS ... A ROOM WITH A VIEW!

86e006l

On 17 December 2010 the luxury hotel resort Shangri-La opened a new destination, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris [OUTNEXT - Shangri-La Hotel Paris]

86e006l
Built in 1896 as the private home of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte’s grand-nephew, Prince Roland Bonaparte, the Sahngri-La Paris offers 81 rooms including 27 suites with for the majority unobstructed views of the Eiffel Tower and the River Seine.

The 16th arrondissement is one of the city’s premier residential districts, but it is also surrounded by a bit of Parisian No man's land. Sure, it's like a 10 minutes walk maybe from Avenue Montaigne and its expensive shopping experience (but how many times can you go to YSL and Dior!?) the "rest" of the city and by "rest" I mean the cool cafes, restaurants and a more vibrant life would require "travel arrangements" and something tells me that the one week metro pass may not be the first option if you stay at the Shangri-La Paris a chauffeur seems more appropriate to drive you around ;-)

One thing that other luxury hotels in Paris will have hard time delivering is the view ... you can't beat the view! It does not get closer and better than that! You will be able to enjoy from your room or terrace, perfect sunsets and the hourly sparkling of the most beautiful monument on the planet, the Eiffel Tower.

As for the prices, bien sur it will depend on the season but let's say you are planning a trip to Paris for August 1st 2011, then you will need to save (per night) EUR 750 ($985) for a superior room (superior is another word for "basic" room, but there is nothing basic in Luxury mes amis ;-) and EUR 995 ($1,300) for a room with the Eiffel Tower view.

86e006l

A suite will cost you between EUR 1,565 ($2,053) for a Deluxe all the way up to EUR 4,955 ($6,500) for the two-level Eiffel Duplex Terrace, which I have to say is THE room you want to have if you go to the Sahngri-La Paris, I mean go big or stay home right!?

PARIS SOUS LA NEIGE ...

Paris_snow_2010_01

This morning when I woke up I received plenty of mails and messages from Paris of our friends "enjoying" a huge snow storm. Heavy snowfall is unusual in Paris. If it does snow it is usually end of December for like 2 hours and it start melting almost immediately after.

Paris_snow_2010_01

Today was a different story, a story that had the city close airports and even the Eiffel Tower (salt cannot be used to tackle the snow because of possible damage to the iron structure). Motorways in the Paris region were described as impassable and "catastrophic". I am sure that people in Paris right now are dreaming of anything but a white christmas ...

I know my friends are gonna hate me just a little more, but it is getting so warm here in LA that we may be able to use the pool this weekend ;-P
